The Musi Riverfront Development Project is a mega urban renewal initiative to restore the historic Musi River from a polluted drainage channel to a vibrant, eco-friendly public waterway.
Spanning 55 kilometres through the heart of Hyderabad, the project includes sewage treatment plants, interceptor drains, ecological restoration, and a continuous green corridor on both banks.
Inspired by the Sabarmati Riverfront, the Musi project will feature pedestrian promenades, cycling tracks, cultural venues, and floating markets — reconnecting citizens with their city's heritage.
Over 20,000 families living in vulnerable settlements along the river will be rehabilitated into modern housing with full civic amenities, ensuring inclusive development alongside ecological restoration.
